Mosaic design is an art form that stretches back to at least Roman times and is formed of tiny tiles forming a much larger picture. Mosaic tiles are often used for wetroom-style bathrooms and are also installed to create a feature wall or a focal point that catches the eye. Various shades of grey tiles are a popular way of adding a contemporary twist to a relaxing bathroom, while beige tiles can look fantastic when paired with wooden furniture.

Though mosaic refers to the tiny tiles that make up an overall bigger picture, you don't have to strictly use mosaic tiles to achieve an interesting design feature with tiles.

Slate tiles can provide some texture to your walls while hexagon tiles can give a geometric feel to your bathroom. Subway tiles are proving very popular these days in bathrooms and kitchen and simply adding some well-placed tiles in a contrasting colour can be enough to catch attention.

Alternatively, if you don't want to go to the expense of installing mosaic tiles then hanging some mosaic wall art will be enough to inject some style and colour into your bathroom. Blues, greens and rainbow colours are timeless shades for bathroom decorative pieces and there is a lot available with a mosaic design.

Indeed, going for a small wall hanging is a fantastic way of fixing your artistic muscles and creating your own customised mosaic. There are lots of how-to mosaic videos on YouTube and, while not easy, mosaic-ing is a common way of a beginner getting into starting out on an art and crafts journey!
