Now is the perfect time to ensure that your bathroom is transformed into a warm and inviting space. Here we share our top bathroom heating tips.

Reasons to heat the bathroom

Nothing feels worse than starting your day shivering and standing on a cold tiled floor while waiting for the shower to warm up. Heating the bathroom doesn’t just create a warm and cosy space when it’s freezing outside, but also helps to reduce humidity levels by evaporating the moisture; this helps to prevent mould and mildew from forming and allows you to reuse towels too.

Heated towel rails

Heated towels rails are available in an array of sizes and styles, including both modern and traditional designs to enhance any bathroom space. When fitting your heated towel rail install it as close to the bath or shower as you possibly can, this will save you from having to walk across the bathroom to get your towel. Heated towel rails run off the central heating system, in the same way as a normal radiator would, so therefore only work when your heating is switched on. But, you can still enjoy warm towels all year round by fitting a heating element or opting for an electric heated towel rail instead.

Designer radiators

A designer radiator Available in various sizes and finishes as well as vertical and horizontal styles, designer radiators are perfect for providing a stylish feature in the bathroom. When choosing a designer radiator make sure to take into consideration the size of your bathroom as the more spacious it is, the higher the BTU heat output will be required to effectively heat the room. Vertical designer radiators are ideal for small bathrooms as they help to make the best use of limited wall space, and also provide a different alternative to a horizontal design.

Underfloor heating

If the idea of stepping onto a warm floor is your idea of luxury, then underfloor heating could be the best choice for you. An underfloor heating system also has the added benefit of providing constant heat throughout the bathroom. There are two types of underfloor heating; electrical heating cables or mats, or a system that runs off the central heating, where warm water flows through pipes, all fitted beneath the floor so that the heat radiates upwards. In addition to underfloor heating you may want to fit a heated towel rail so you have somewhere to keep towels warm and dry.
